Meet the plateau elf in Xizang! Known as a "paradise for wildlife," the Changtang National Nature Reserve in southwest China's #Xizang Autonomous Region is home to many protected species, including kiangs (Equus kiang), Tibetan antelopes, black-necked cranes, snow leopards and more. With 47 established nature reserves of various types, which cover a total area of 412,200 square kilometers, Xizang is home to 1,072 species of terrestrial wild vertebrates and 246 wildlife species under special state protection.
